End the Recession, Starting With Yourself

It’s the question on everyone’s mind these days: “When is the recession going to end?” If you are looking for financial freedom, a drop in the economy can be very frustrating. After all, when can you start investing again and when can you expect to have a shot at building wealth without having to worry about losing it or not having enough money to pay your expenses? If you are asking this, you’ll be pleased to know that ending the recession is easier than you might think…it starts with you.

In this article, we’ll be talking about some things which you can start doing right now to take control of your financial life and start working towards financial freedom…

Financial Freedom Starts Right Now

There will never be a right time to start building financial freedom, now is all that you’ll ever have. Even if you just start setting aside 10% of what you’re making, or 1%, the first step is taking greater control of your money. Much of the stress that people have over money is the feeling that they’re not in control, and anything you can do to start getting things going in the right direction can make a difference. Too often, we get into the “all or nothing thinking” when it comes to creating financial freedom.

We assume that if we don’t have all kinds of money to give and to save and to invest, that we might as well wait until we DO have it before we get started. However, this just leads to more feelings of being out of control and of having to depend on exterior things in order to take charge of our lives. Here is the first thing to ask yourself if you don’t feel like you have the financial means to achieve your goals: “What CAN I do right now to get things pointed in the right direction?”

Ask yourself this question and get to work right away by taking a small step, even if it seems insignificant. The financial impact might not be huge, but it will help you to at least regain a sense of control…and that’s the first step.

Plan for Bad times, Even in the Good

While a time of economic scarcity can be frustrating and scary, there is a lot than can be learned if you remind yourself during the times of abundance that the times of scarcity will come again. Too often, when the storm ends, we go right back to our old behaviors and assume that the storm won’t come again. This is a mistake, because it keeps us from planning properly for the ebb and flow of life. Prepare yourself for the bad times by remembering that they WILL come again, and when they do, they won’t be so bad.
