Financial Freedom – Finding Your Natural Source of Motivation

Achieving financial freedom, or any other goal in life, requires consistent motivation towards the actions required to achieve the goal. The problem is that most of us are motivated one day, and the next day we can’t do anything but sit and stare at our written financial plans, wondering why we can’t seem to find the motivation to get going.

Is there some secret to getting and staying motivated on a consistent basis?

While there is no “one big secret,” to getting and staying motivated, there are specific things you can do to make sure that you stay motivated on a consistent basis so you can achieve your goal of having financial freedom and of building wealth. Let’s look at a few of these motivational strategies…

Three Myths About Motivation

Staying motivated requires an understanding of how motivation actually works.

First, it’s more of a matter of physical stamina than it is of willpower. You can’t will yourself to do anything on a consistent basis if you’re too physically tired to do so. This is why consistent exercise is required in order to keep yourself motivated and focused on achieving goals which require emotional and mental energy. So what if you don’t have the energy to exercise every day? That’s where the next myth of motivation comes in…

Motivation is more of a result of taking action than it is a cause of action. Action creates momentum and gives you the motivation to take more action. If you aren’t motivated to do something, the best thing you can do is just start. If you do this, your body will respond by releasing adrenaline and hormones which will give you the energy to keep going.

However, if you’re not taking action, what reason does your body have to respond and provide you with the energy for doing so?

Finally, motivation is directly connected to the desire to accomplish something, and the more consistently you remind yourself of this desire, the more motivated you’ll become to keep working towards it.

Finally, Have the Right Plan

Fear is one of the primary reasons why people lose their motivation to do something, and fear comes from uncertainty. Having a plan drives out uncertainty and therefore it drives out fear. The more clearly defined your plan is, the harder it will be for you to get off track by losing your motivation. So remember, train your body right, take action instead of waiting for motivation to come, stay focused on your desire and keep a specific plan.

This will help you to keep your motivation and stay committed your plan until you see solid results.

Much success!
